WHAT IS SOCIO-ECONOMIC CONSULTING AND RESEARCH?
Socio-economic consulting has to do with providing consultancy, advisory and facilitation services for government and private sector clients who have interests in social responsibility and community development initiatives. We survey communities, generally speaking, and identify how we can add value or improvement to the more overarching social and economic aspects that are unique to the particular community in question.
WHY IS SOCIO-ECONOMIC CONSULTING FOR COMMUNITIES IMPORTANT?
It’s important because social and economic issues are interconnected, and so when we develop strategies to try and alleviate these issues while introducing developmental initiatives and resources, understanding those key elements that make up a community is crucial. The research and consulting helps entities to avoid possible wastages when ploughing resources in certain communities or NGOs without the sound knowledge of priority developmental areas. Alternatively, it highlights the need for development projects in various socio-economic sectors within the community, such as education and training, healthcare and sanitization, charity, youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, and capacity building.
